About the Role

Our client, a leading global medical communications agency, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President or Senior Vice President of Client Services to join their expanding US leadership team. This is a newly created role driven by growth, offering the opportunity to lead major accounts, develop cross-functional teams, and play a key role in shaping the agency’s commercial and medical affairs strategy across global clients.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience across publications, medical affairs, and commercial medical communications, with a proven ability to manage large, cross-functional teams across the US and UK. This individual will serve as a strategic leader and client partner, overseeing account growth, operational excellence, and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional client services teams across the US and UK, ensuring alignment, collaboration, and delivery excellence.

  • Drive account strategy and provide senior-level oversight across publications, medical affairs, and commercial programs.

  • Partner with agency leadership to shape and implement long-term client and business growth strategies.

  • Client Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior-level pharmaceutical and biotech clients.

  • Build and sustain strong client relationships, ensuring the highest levels of satisfaction and partnership.

  • Guide clients across global, regional, and US-based initiatives, helping them meet key scientific and commercial objectives.

  • Business Development

  • Contribute to agency growth through proactive business development and client expansion.

  • Leverage existing industry relationships and networks to generate new client opportunities and introductions.

  • Lead or support proposal development, pitch presentations, and organic account growth efforts.

  • Operational Excellence

  • Oversee project delivery quality, budget management, and profitability across assigned accounts.

  • Ensure effective collaboration across medical, scientific, creative, and digital teams.

  • Mentor and develop account teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of experience within medical communications, publications, medical affairs, or commercial communications, ideally within an agency environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in a life science, healthcare, or related field strongly preferred
    • Proven experience leading large, cross-functional client service teams across the US and UK.

    • Strong commercial acumen and success driving account growth and new business development.

    • Track record of managing senior-level pharmaceutical/biotech clients across multiple therapy areas.

    • Deep understanding of the pharma lifecycle and the integration of med affairs, publications, and commercial strategies.
