Head of Business Development – Manufacturing

 

BioTalent are proud to be supporting a non-profit organisation who are passionate about delivering life-changing advanced therapies in their search for a Head of Business Development – Manufacturing.

 

As an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team, the successful individual will be responsible for shaping the delivery of their new manufacturing collaboration model in support of the company’s expansion. As such, they are looking for a degree educated professional who has an existing network within the Cell & Gene Therapy space and the ability to create and build new relationships with the aim of driving new business opportunities from a holistic perspective.

 

This opportunity will lead the business development activities both in the UK and internationally; collaborating on developing strategies and promoting new technologies. You will be accountable for opening new doors, winning new business and using both your technical understanding and commercial acumen to promote the company’s effectiveness within the industry.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the business development strategy, aims, goals and targets
  • To work as part of a wider team to drive the strategy for all manufacturing and supply chain innovation
  • Source, develop and manage the collaborator relationships
  • Lead, develop and manage the key relationships as part of the overall business development matrix
  • Report in to and support the senior leadership team
  • Provide ongoing market feedback and knowledge to key stakeholders

 

Experience & Skills Needed:

  • Honours degree in a relevant biological or commercial discipline
  • Substantial experience within a similar business development role within the cell and gene therapy or biologics industry, preferably within manufacturing
  • A top-level awareness of the overall requirements of GMP manufacturing
  • High commercial awareness and acumen
  • Proven ability to engage constructively with colleagues at all levels across different departments to deliver objectives and to respond to a wide range of customer and management needs
  • Excellent track record of successful personnel leadership
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills
  • Experience of motivating and developing teams
  • Willingness to travel, with approximately 50% of time spent working from different facilities and offices, and travelling to other locations as required
