Job description
BioTalent is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a leading global CDMO who have been supporting top pharmaceutical and biotech companies for over 25 years. The organization operates multiple R&D and manufacturing sites globally and is known for its technical excellence and regulatory strength.
We are seeking a Business Development Director to join the US team, focused on expanding client relationships and driving growth across the West Coast territory. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle and a proven track record in CDMO/CRO business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent and articulate the company’s platform technologies and capabilities to prospective clients.
- Lead and support proposal generation, RFIs/RFPs, contract negotiations (MSAs), and provide customer insights to internal stakeholders.
- Execute strategic BD initiatives to identify and engage new clients through market analysis and networking.
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, aligning with their long-term manufacturing strategies.
- Attend industry events, conferences, and client meetings to promote brand awareness and capabilities.
- Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot and develop tailored business solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required; advanced degrees (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred.
- 5 years of BD/sales experience within CDMO/CRO, pharma, biotech, or related healthcare sectors.
- Familiarity with drug development processes, proposal creation, budgeting, and timeline management.
- Ability to support emerging biotech clients with flexible, value-driven solutions.
- Strong aptitude for learning technical and scientific concepts.
- Strong preference for a background within small molecules, ADCs, peptides, or oligonucleotides.
