Job description
Director of Business Development
Location: Paris, France (Hybrid)
Reports to: CEO
About Us
We’re a mission-driven team at the intersection of AI and chemistry, focused on accelerating the energy transition. Our work centers on discovering novel chemicals and materials that can enable more sustainable industrial processes. With a cutting-edge generative AI platform, we are redefining how catalysts and materials are developed to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions and combat climate change.
As a well-funded, early-stage startup, we blend rigorous science with real-world application, and value clear thinking, simple communication, and a mindset of continuous improvement. We believe in the power of technology to drive large-scale environmental impact.
Your Mission
As Director of Business Development, you will lead the creation and execution of our go-to-market strategy. Your role is to identify and build strategic partnerships, target high-potential market segments, and shape business models that deliver value through our AI-powered materials discovery capabilities.
You’ll work closely with the executive team to turn cutting-edge technology into scalable solutions for the world’s most urgent climate challenges.
Key Responsibilities
-
Own the full business development lifecycle — from strategic planning to hands-on execution — in close alignment with the CEO and leadership team.
-
Define and iterate our commercial offerings based on industry feedback and market discovery.
-
Identify, evaluate, and build high-impact partnerships across sectors such as chemicals, energy, and advanced materials.
-
Structure deals and collaboration frameworks in partnership with legal, finance, and technical teams.
-
Represent the company at industry conferences and events to expand visibility and networks.
-
Navigate ambiguity and evolving business needs in a dynamic startup environment.
About You
-
Proven executive-level experience in business development, partnerships, or strategic sales.
-
5+ years in commercial, consulting, or strategic roles in energy, chemistry, or materials sectors.
-
Strong understanding of business models in innovative or early-stage environments.
-
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a solution-focused and collaborative approach.
-
Ability to engage with complex technical concepts and translate them into compelling value propositions.
-
Entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in climate tech, sustainability, or deep tech innovation.
What We Offer
We’re building a culture focused on meaningful work, long-term impact, and healthy work-life balance. Our offer includes:
-
Competitive salary with significant equity upside (BSPCE)
-
Premium health insurance (Alan)
-
Generous vacation and time-off policies
-
Hybrid work model: minimum two consecutive days per week in the Paris office
-
An opportunity to directly contribute to solutions for one of the planet’s biggest challenges
Why This Role Matters
Your work will help shape the commercialization of groundbreaking technologies with the potential to radically reduce carbon emissions. You’ll be joining a passionate, cross-disciplinary team committed to solving hard problems — with science, purpose, and ambition.
