Business Development Manager

Job description

BioTalent is supporting a innovative fragrance technology start-up based in London who are on their search for their first Sales / Business Development hire. You will build market presence from the ground up. You’ll forge relationships with luxury retailers, hospitality groups, and luxury brands, driving partnership opportunities and delivering compelling in-store scent experiences. With guidance from leadership and support from marketing, you’ll develop a territory strategy, identify prospects, and generate pipeline to meet ambitious commercial targets.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development Strategy: Define target verticals (e.g., premium fragrance retail, hospitality) and craft go-to-market plans.
  • Partnership Growth: Engage and secure pilot programs and long-term partnerships with retailers, hotels, and corporate clients.
  • Sales Execution: Lead prospecting, outreach, demos (in-person and virtual), contract negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Territory Management: Own London market, expanding into key UK cities over time. Maintain CRM for pipeline management.
  • Event Representation: Represent at UK trade shows, partner pop-ups, and client activations.
  • Collaborate Internally: Feedback market insights; coordinate deployment logistics with Operations.
  • Reporting & Metrics: Deliver monthly revenue forecasts, pipeline updates, and sales performance to the CEO.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in sales or business development within Fragrance/Perfumery industry
  • Track record of selling innovative solutions to corporate or retail partners.
  • Proficiency in full sales cycle: research, outreach, demos, negotiations, closing.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, including in-person demos.
  • London-based or willing to relocate; comfortable with UK travel.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive, self-motivated, able to build from scratch.
  • Passion for scent, luxury experiences, AI, and retail innovation.
