Location: Irvine, CA + Some travel to Customer Sites Nationwide

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Business Development to lead our growth initiatives, build lasting partnerships, and drive new revenue opportunities across key markets. This individual will be instrumental in identifying emerging opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and contributing to long-term strategic planning.

This is a high-impact leadership role ideal for a results-driven professional with deep experience in B2B technical sales, solution selling, and contract development, especially in regulated or high-precision industries.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company goals.

  • Identify, engage, and cultivate new business opportunities across diverse markets.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, customers, and strategic partners.

  • Lead the full business development cycle—from prospecting and proposals to contract negotiations and onboarding.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and executive teams to ensure alignment on customer needs and internal capabilities.

  • Evaluate market trends, customer feedback, and competitive positioning to recommend strategic actions.

  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote company capabilities and expand market presence.

  • Generate detailed forecasts, performance metrics, and reports to track business development efforts and ROI.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, ideally in a technical or regulated environment.

  • Proven success in identifying and closing high-value deals with OEMs or B2B partners.

  • Strong understanding of contract negotiation, pricing strategy, and customer lifecycle management.

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and operate tactically in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
