Job Title: Account Director – Promotional Medical Education
Location: Local to NJ, NY, CT, PA, RI, MA preferred
Reports To: Client Services Director / VP, Client Services

About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic, experienced, and client-focused Account Director to lead and grow key accounts within our Promotional Medical Education portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and healthcare landscape, with a strong track record of delivering impactful promotional med ed programs that align with brand strategies and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the strategic lead for assigned client accounts, ensuring delivery of high-quality, compliant promotional med ed initiatives (e.g., speaker programs, peer-to-peer engagements, digital education, symposia).

  • Build and nurture client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and go-to point of contact.

  • Collaborate with medical writers, creative teams, and project managers to ensure all materials are medically accurate, strategically aligned, and meet all regulatory standards.

  • Oversee program planning, budgeting, and execution from concept through delivery, including live and virtual events.

  • Identify organic growth opportunities and support new business development efforts, including pitch presentations and proposal development.

  • Maintain strong knowledge of relevant therapeutic areas, regulatory environment (e.g., PhRMA, FDA, MLR processes), and industry trends.

  • Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering professional development and high-performance teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in healthcare communications, medical education, or promotional medical education within an agency or pharma setting.

  • Proven experience managing HCP-targeted promotional initiatives in compliance with industry regulations.

  • Strong client services skills with a history of growing accounts and delivering measurable outcomes.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, communications, marketing, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).

  • Understanding of medical/legal/regulatory review processes (e.g., Veeva, Zinc) and promotional review experience is essential.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience across multiple therapeutic areas.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven agency environment.

  • Familiarity with omnichannel strategy and digital education tools.
