Scientific Director (Commercial) - Medical Communications

We are seeking a Scientific Director to join our growing Medical Communications team, with a focus on commercial and promotional medical education. This is an exciting opportunity to play a strategic role in shaping scientific storytelling, supporting brand positioning, and ensuring scientific excellence across client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a scientific lead on assigned commercial accounts, ensuring scientific accuracy and strategic alignment across all promotional materials.

  • Partner closely with account teams, creative, and strategy to develop impactful, compliant, and compelling scientific narratives.

  • Drive strategic content planning for promotional campaigns, speaker programs, launch materials, and multichannel initiatives.

  • Provide scientific oversight and mentorship to medical writers, reviewing content for accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency.

  • Contribute to brand strategy discussions and identify new opportunities for scientific engagement.

  • Collaborate with clients (including brand teams and MLR stakeholders) to guide the scientific direction of projects.

  • Stay current on therapeutic area data, competitor landscapes, and industry trends to proactively advise clients.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, or MD strongly preferred).

  • 6+ years of experience in Medical Communications agency setting.

  • Proven expertise in commercial/promotional medical communications, including experience with MLR review and strategic content planning.

  • Strong client-facing and presentation skills; ability to translate complex science into clear, engaging messages.

  • Therapeutic experience in oncology, immunology, or other specialty areas preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior scientific staff.
