Senior Account Manager – Medical Communications (Medical Affairs & Commercial)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Account Manager with strong experience in medical communications to join our growing client services team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex medical affairs and commercial projects for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional client satisfaction.
This role requires strategic thinking, operational excellence, and the ability to foster long-term client relationships while collaborating closely with internal scientific, creative, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary client contact for assigned accounts, building trusted relationships with clients in medical affairs, marketing, and commercial teams.

Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of a wide range of medical communications initiatives, including:

Scientific platforms and lexicons

Advisory boards and expert engagements
-
Congress and symposium deliverables
-
Speaker programs and training materials
-
MSL resources and field tools
-
Product launch and lifecycle management materials

Translate client objectives into clear project scopes, timelines, and budgets; monitor performance against goals and KPIs.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (scientific, creative, editorial, digital, and operations) to ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget delivery.

Contribute to strategic account growth by identifying new opportunities and supporting proposal development and new business presentations.

Support financial management of accounts, including forecasting, invoicing, and profitability tracking.

Maintain awareness of industry trends, compliance standards, and evolving client needs across therapeutic areas.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree required (life sciences, communications, or related field preferred); advanced degree a plus.

4+ years of account management experience in medical communications, ideally within an agency environment.

Demonstrated experience supporting both medical affairs and commercial deliverables.

Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Must be based in Eastern or Central Time Zone and willing to travel up to 20%.
