Scientific Imaging Business Development Manager - Philadelphia

We're looking for a highly motivated and technical Scientific Imaging Business Development Manager to join a leading scientific instrumentation company in the vibrant Philadelphia area!

 

In this critical role, you'll play a pivotal role in driving new business within the life sciences (biotech & pharma) sector, focusing on the key corridor from Philadelphia to Baltimore.

 

You'll leverage your deep scientific knowledge and technical expertise to build strong relationships with key decision-makers, from lab-level researchers to C-suite executives. As the single point of contact for these vital accounts, you'll become a trusted advisor, helping them solve complex challenges and achieve their scientific goals through cutting-edge microscopy and imaging solutions.

 

Here's what you'll do:

  • Develop Business: Develop and execute strategic plans to identify and acquire new customers within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Build Relationships: Cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with key decision-makers, including C-suite executives, VPs, and lab-level personnel.
  • Trusted Advisor: Become a trusted advisor by providing expert guidance and solutions to complex imaging and scientific workflow challenges.
  • Solution Selling: Present and demonstrate the value proposition of our microscopy and imaging systems, highlighting how they can advance scientific discovery and innovation.
  • Technical Expertise: Leverage your in-depth knowledge of microscopy and imaging techniques (including Electron, Confocal, and Atomic Force Microscopes) to provide exceptional technical support to your customers.

 

You're a Perfect Fit If You Have:

  • Advanced Degree: A Ph.D. or M.S. in a life sciences field (with a strong preference for a background in Pathology) is required.
  • Scientific Expertise: Proven understanding of scientific research methodologies and a passion for scientific discovery.
  • Hands-on Experience: Extensive hands-on experience with microscopy applications and a deep understanding of scientific instrumentation.
  • Technical Savvy: Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software, with a preference for experience with NIS Elements Software, assembling custom computer workstations, networking, and introductory programming.
  • Relationship Builder: A natural ability to connect with people at all levels and build strong, long-lasting relationships.
  • Business Acumen: A strong understanding of business development principles and a passion for exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent Communication: The ability to deliver clear, concise, and engaging presentations, both verbally and in writing.
