This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of complex systems used in production and support operations, helping minimize equipment downtime and optimize performance.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Performing preventive maintenance and repairs on process equipment such as bioreactors, centrifuges, ultrafiltration skids, parts washers, autoclaves, isolators, and fillers
  • Providing input and recommendations to improve preventive maintenance programs and reduce equipment downtime
  • Contributing to the development and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to maintenance activities
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control system malfunctions
  • Supporting installation, commissioning, and qualification of new process equipment
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with GMP standards
  • Ensuring compliance with safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Reporting unsafe conditions to management or Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
  • Participating in all required safety and health training
  • Providing on-call support for emergency maintenance and after-hours operations, as needed
  • Conducting spare parts assessments and inventory checks
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

You Will Bring the Following
Minimum Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 4 years of maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or similar manufacturing environment
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Preferred Education & Experience
  • Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environment
Certifications (Preferred)
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Understanding of GMP requirements and documentation practices
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Ability to train and mentor less experienced technicians
  • High attention to detail and accuracy

Decision-Making & Scope
  • Works on moderately complex assignments requiring judgment and initiative
  • Receives minimal supervision on routine tasks; general guidance for new assignments
  • Applies broad technical knowledge to resolve issues and make process recommendations

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding, and ramps
  • Capable of standing or sitting for extended periods (up to 60 minutes)
  • Able to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Performs repetitive hand and wrist motions
  • Requires corrected 20/20 vision and ability to distinguish colors
  • Must be able to hear and respond to audible cues
  • May work in enclosed or elevated spaces (>4 feet)
  • Work may require hearing protection and participation in a hearing conservation program
  • May involve work in temperature-controlled production environments

Working Environment
  • Primary work occurs in mechanical, production, and cleanroom areas
  • May require use of respiratory protection depending on task assignment
  • May involve brief exposure to outdoor elements or varying temperature conditions
