BioTalent is pleased to be working with a highly innovative and world-changing biotechnology company, developing sustainable and scalable feedstocks in the global food and feed ingredients markets with the aim of producing products with a dramatically smaller carbon footprint than other products on the market. We are looking to recruit a resourceful Principal Project Engineer to take charge of engineering projects for the company’s scale-ups from lab to pilot to demo.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead engineering projects that will help the company scale its technology.

  • Formulate project parameters and assign responsibilities to the most capable employees and project teams as well as use consultants where needed.

  • Lead internal and external design reviews.

  • Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans and personnel performance and report the project’s status.

  • Create frameworks to measure the project’s metrics and data collection.

  • Cooperate with the project team and other project participants to create more efficient project methods.

  • Review engineering tasks and initiate the necessary corrective actions.

  • Technical analysis of proposed engineering solutions.

  • Developing specifications for the project’s needs.

  • Ensuring the project’s compliance with applicable codes, practices, policies, performance, standards and specifications.


You will have:

  • MEng or equivalent qualification in an engineering, Chemical/ Process/ Mechanical/ Electrical discipline;

  • 7-10 years of experience working in a project environment within process industries (including pilot, demonstration and commercial-scale production)

  • Several years of experience developing and scaling new or modified processes.

  • Experience managing contractors and sub-contractors
