IT Manager, Business Applications

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager of Business Applications to lead and manage our critical business applications. This role will be instrumental in driving digital transformation and operational excellence across various business functions, including Finance, Operations, Customer Service, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Distribution. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, specifically QAD, and a proven track record of delivering innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a long-term vision for business applications strategy, aligning with the overall IT and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement and digital transformation.
  • Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new business applications and technologies.

• Application Management:

  • Provide expert-level support for QAD and other critical business applications.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of applications, including development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Ensure system performance, reliability, and security through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Lead system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes, minimizing disruption to business operations.

• Project Management:

  • Manage complex IT projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring adherence to project methodologies and best practices.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop talented individuals to strengthen the team.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, empowering them to achieve their goals.

• Business Partnership:

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, understanding their business needs and challenges.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements, analyze processes, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, presenting complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in IT, with a focus on business applications and ERP systems.
• Proven experience with QAD ERP, including configuration, customization, and integration.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and database technologies.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with other ERP systems and business applications.
• Certifications in QAD or other relevant technologies.
• Experience in the medical device industry.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for medical devices.
