Sr. Research Associate, Biochemistry/Discovery Biology Team

BioTalent is excited to partner with a venture-backed biotech focused on combating neurodegenerative diseases through the use of complex protein biologics. Their mission is to promote brain health and repair through genetic and biochemical insights.
 

Responsibilities:

• Fractionation of lipoproteins through the use of both affinity chromatography and size-exclusion
• Testing of antibodies, SDS-PAGE and western blotting
• Assessing ligand binding and generating immunoaffinity resin
• Assessing protein aggregation by testing assay kits
• Keeping an electronic notebook and conducting data analysis

Qualifications:

• A master’s degree in biochemistry, or a bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience
• Experience with FPLC protein purification required
• Experience with AKTA is strongly preferred
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Experience with SDS-PAGE, western blotting, and qPCR is preferred
• Ability to plan and execute standard plate-based assays in 96- and 384-well formats for quantification of various samples (eg. protein quantification assays, enzyme-coupled assays) preferred
• Experience with lipoproteins or neurodegenerative diseases is a plus
