BioTalent are delighted to be partnering with an incredibly exciting antibody discovery biotech company based in London. They are well funded and have a highly innovative drug discovery platform with an enormous amount of potential.

As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking an experience Senior Scientist to join their drug discovery team. This is a key role as they need someone who is a true immuno-oncology expert, who can bring a wealth of knowledge in this area to the business and make a tangible impact on their research.

What you’ll do in the role:
  • Lead on the development, optimisation and running of cancer and immune cell functional assays.
  • Plan, design and direct complex screening experiments involving multiple methodologies and input from multiple contributors.
  • Develop cell-based and in vitro assays to characterise novel antibodies derived from our machine learning-based optimisation platform.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to plan strategy for future automation, thinking forward to formulate new ways to develop and advance the company’s capabilities.
  • Conduct data analysis and give expert guidance, both to team members and other functions within the company.

The requirements for the role:
  • Education to PhD level with relevant industrial or academic experience. Extensive knowledge and practical experience in immuno-oncology is essential.
  • Large molecule/biologics experience and experience working with biologics drug discovery platforms.
  • Extensive experience working with immuno-oncology based assays, including flow cytometric methods in screening assays for preclinical drug discovery & functional validation.
  • Subject matter expertise on cell-based assays and how they can support  drug discovery.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate clear and effective collaboration with specialists from other fields (e.g. Data Scientists, Protein Expression, Automation).
  • You'll have a working knowledge of, with experience of antibody drug developability a distinct advantage.
