Job description

The Role:

Our client is seeking an experience Chemical Production Manager in the greater Boston area.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a 50+ manufacturing department specializing in specialized chemicals production.
  • Ensure all manufacturing equipment is maintained and operating properly.
  • Guide and oversee team members in alignment with work instructions and company policies to ensure timely, high-quality production.
  • Promote a safe work environment by monitoring operational practices and ensuring compliance with local safety regulations.
  • Implement job-related training programs for employees on the off shift.
  • Coach team members and apply technical expertise to resolve processing issues; implement and sustain corrective actions as needed.
  • Foster a high-morale work environment rooted in strong ethical standards.
  • Participate as a member of the site management team; take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Manager.
  • Drive accountability for achieving facility goals and objectives among team leaders and team members.
  • Monitor production output and quality metrics, taking timely action to address gaps or inefficiencies.
  • Apply problem-solving methodologies, team-building strategies, process controls, and continuous improvement tools to exceed key operational targets.
  • Lead or participate in process audits to identify and implement containment, corrective, and preventive actions aimed at eliminating process deviations and non-conforming product.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the chemical industry.
  • Leadership experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations and compliance practices.
