BioTalent are partnered with a global pharmaceutical leader based in the Walloon Region, to support the hire of a DSP Lead Scientist within their Biologics MS&T department.

This role will offer you

The chance to take ownership for downstream processes, acting as a subject matter expert for biologics purification, whilst leading a small team of scientists and technicians in a fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for

You will support the design and design of the MSAT laboratory, managing all downstream activities within this facility and providing expertise on biologics downstream processing.
You will lead and mentor your direct reports to support their personal development and progression with ongoing projects, ensuring adequate training in scientific and HSE processes.
You will create and review documentation such as experimental plans and SOPs, supporting regulatory submissions, technology transfers and manufacturing quality documentation.
You will lead process optimisation studies, build company procedures for scale-down models, and ensure quality standards are met throughout.

You will bring the following:

A PhD or Masters with equivalent experience in a relevant Life Science subject e.g. Biochemical Engineering, Bioprocessing, Biotechnology.
Industrial experience within a downstream processing environment working with biologics or biopharmaceuticals, with an established foundation of expertise in the area.
Experience supporting and leading junior team members alongside your hands on experience.
