CNC Programmer – Swiss (Contract, Hybrid)
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid – local candidates only)
Type: Contract

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with Swiss machining expertise to support our engineering and manufacturing team on a contract basis. This role will focus on programming, optimizing, and supporting Swiss-type CNC machines for precision components. The position is hybrid, requiring regular on-site presence in the San Diego area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for Swiss-type lathes
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturability
  • Support machine setup, prove-outs, and troubleshooting as needed
  • Optimize cycle times, tooling, and overall machining efficiency
  • Ensure programs meet tight tolerances and quality standards
  • Support prototype and production builds

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as a CNC Programmer, with strong Swiss machining experience required
  • Hands-on experience with Swiss-type machines (e.g., Citizen, Star, Tsugami, or similar)
  • Proficiency with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of G-code, tooling, and precision machining processes
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with tight-tolerance, high-precision components

Additional Requirements
  • Must be local to the San Diego / Southern California area
  • Able to work on-site as needed for setup and testing
