You will be responsible for:
  • Creating bioinformatics infrastructure from the ground up and supporting with the optimisation of the existing platform.
  • Key contributions in the construct and implementation of a bioinformatic web ecosystem, empowering your colleagues to get more from their data.
  • Pipeline engineering, enhancement and validation - resulting in a flexible, adaptable and customisable end product, adhering to the relevant production quality regulations.
  • Championing data integrity and being responsible for advocating the best data handling and archive practises to drive broad scale analyses.
  • Stakeholders and external collaborator management.


You will bring the following:
  • A degree (or equivalent experience) in Bioinformatics, Biology, Medicine, Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science or a similar discipline.
  • A track record of using Python to develop and deploy scientific software (expertise).
  • Familiarity with python web development (Django, Flask, Pyramid etc.)
  • Experience coding within a team and experience working with SQL (Postgres, MySQL etc.)
  • Sound knowledge and/or practise with JavaScript.
  • Understanding of version control using Git (familiar with branching and merging)
  • Experience developing software and systems for analytical purposes.
