Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology

📍 Field-Based | Pacific Northwest Territory

✈️ ~75% Travel

 

Position Summary

A leading oncology diagnostics organization is seeking a field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to serve as a scientific and clinical expert supporting an oncology diagnostics portfolio with a primary focus on breast cancer. This is a high-visibility, highly collaborative role working closely with oncology sales teams and clinical stakeholders across large territories.

 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate scientific and clinical exchange with Medical Oncologists, APPs (NPs/PAs), and KOLs through in-person and virtual interactions
  • Present technical and clinical data at Tumor Boards, Grand Rounds, roundtables, and regional programs
  • Communicate the chemistry, clinical utility, and supporting evidence behind oncology diagnostic assays
  • Partner closely with sales, marketing, and internal scientific teams to support education, speaker training, and material review
  • Identify and recommend participants for advisory boards and medical education initiatives
  • Participate in regional strategy and commercial planning meetings
  • Gather field insights and relay scientific feedback internally
  • Triage and respond to clinical and scientific inquiries from the field
  • Maintain scientific and clinical expertise through conferences, literature review, and collaboration with internal experts
  • Travel extensively within the assigned territory (~75%)

 

Requirements

  • PhD required in life sciences or related scientific discipline
  • Postdoctoral training preferred
  • 1–3 years of clinical, medical, or scientific experience within medical device / diagnostics / biotech
  • True oncology focused background
  • Hands-on cancer research or clinical exposure (not coursework-only)
  • Preference for training under physician-scientists
