BioTalent is pleased to be supporting a medical devices design consultancy based in Cambridgeshire partnered with some exciting and innovative medical devices companies, working with them from concept generation to industrialisation. We are looking for an EHS expert with the combined experience in laboratory management. This is an exciting leading and hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to build out your own team to support you with lab management and health and safety management systems.
 

This role will offer you

You will be responsible for

• Managing lab operation activities and providing input and guidance on space and equipment.

• Developing your own small team to support you with lab ops and EHS activities.

• Managing H&S for compressed gas, chemicals, consumables, PPE, equipment maintenance, human tissue work, etc.

• Collaborating with external suppliers, QA and scientists ensuring all complies with ISO13485.

• Develop and implement H&S procedures and documentation and provide H&S training for best practices.

• Providing technical and strategic Health and Safety guidance on a range of areas such as Biohazards, Chemical or Lab Safety and overall EHS compliance.

• Perform safety inspections, and investigate breaches or accidents.

• Ensure that Health & Safety KPIs are collected and reported to Site Management Team.

You will bring the following

• BSc in a biological or chemical subject.

• NEBOSH Diploma, Grad/Tech IOSH (or equivalent).

• Significant experience in laboratory H&S and compliance.

• Experience in working in accredited or certified organisations e.g., ISO13485 or ISO9001

• Ideally have experience in obtaining ISO14001 or ISO45001 certification.
