Our employer is looking to add an experienced Data Engineering Lead/Principal who will be guiding and coordinating a team of Scientists and Bioinformaticians, tackling data challenges, designing databases/analysis platforms, supporting pipeline development, and more.

Our employer is looking to add an experienced Data Engineering Lead/Principal who will be guiding and coordinating a team of Scientists and Bioinformaticians, tackling data challenges, designing databases/analysis platforms, supporting pipeline development, and more.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing pipelines for data acquisition and ingestion.
- Lead the design of data architectures and storage solutions.
- Promote the use analytics/BI tools for valuable data insights.
- Implement data quality processes and ensure compliance with standards.
- Develop libraries and APIs for secure data access.
- Manage raw data sets and establish archival processes.
- Monitor data usage and infrastructure through dashboards.
You will bring the following:
- Degree in a quantitative or informatics field with extensive experience working with a variety of databases/datasets.
- Experience supporting data needs for scientists and informaticians.
- Extensive experience in data engineering, including building and optimising data pipelines (high-volume, large datasets and big-data architectures)
- Proficiency with cloud-based data services such as AWS, S3, EC2, Glue, Redshift, Athena, API Gateway
- Experience working with SQL and MySQL including Postgres and Cassandra.
- Experience/knowledge of data tools (Airflow, Luigi, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Storm, etc.) and programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Scala, etc.)
- Understanding of FAIR principles and experience with GxP systems.
