Senior Scientist – Stem Cells (iPSC) & Immunology

We are collaborating with a Drug Discovery business who are looking for a Senior Scientist to lead their iPSC cell therapy R&D efforts. The location of the site is near Brussels (circa 40min  – 50min)
In this dynamic role, you will lead the development of novel iPSC differentiation processes to generate potent immune cell types for cutting-edge treatments. Combining your deep immunological expertise with a passion for innovation.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Post-Doc in stem cell research or a Scientist in industrial setting that is keen to develop their career further.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead R&D studies: Design and execute research projects to create new iPSC-derived immune cell types, managing timelines, budgets, and milestones for both internal and customer-sponsored programs.
  • Develop and optimise workflows for characterizing iPSC differentiation processes and resulting immune cell products, leveraging diverse assays like flow cytometry, qPCR, and functional immunological tests.
  • Foster collaboration, provide scientific direction, and interpret results to accelerate progress within the research group.
  • Stay current with cutting-edge research and technologies.
Main Requirements:
  • A PhD in developmental immunology, cell biology, immunology, stem cell research, cell therapy or relevant field.
  • Strong scientific background in stem cell therapies with strong experience of IPSCs differentiation.
  • Expertise in flow cytometry, qPCR, and functional immunological assays.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills with a talent for innovation and problem-solving.
