I am currently seeking a dedicated Senior Biomedical Scientist to join a Laboratory Diagnostics organisation based in London. As a Senior Biomedical Scientist, you will collaborate closely with other senior team members, histology staff, and senior leadership to maintain operational excellence. Your role involves overseeing training, leading initiatives, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations

You will be responsible for:

• Ensure specimens are processed and dispatched to the highest standards within agreed turnaround times.
• Assist in managing workload and maintaining accuracy in work output.
• Serve as the lead Senior BMS for training within the laboratory, fostering the development of staff.
• Oversee IBMS portfolios, ensuring compliance and proficiency.
• Organise work schedules and supervise MLA’s, MTO’s & BMS’ to ensure efficient operations.
• Undertake necessary training for continued growth and development.
• Use and maintain histology equipment in compliance with department policies.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and safe laboratory procedures at all times.
• Participate in specimen dissection as required.
• Engage in annual staff appraisals to support team development.

You will bring the following:

• You me be HCPC registered BMS and member of the Institute of Biomedical Sciences.
• Minimum 4 years of post-registration experience in a histology laboratory, with a broad skill set and specialist experience in specimen dissection.
• Solid understanding of histological techniques, Health & Safety codes, and laboratory IT systems. Experience with accreditation processes is desirable.
