Production Planning Leader
Job description
BioTalent are partnered with a leading life sciences organization seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Production Planning Leader to oversee and optimize production scheduling in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role leads a professional team of planners, driving strategic execution and ensuring global supply continuity. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to enhance production processes, solve root-cause issues, and implement lean strategies for efficiency and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a zero-incident safety culture through proactive risk management and employee awareness programs.
- Lead the Production Planning and Scheduling team, driving process improvements to meet customer delivery expectations.
- Develop and enforce best practices for executing Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) using SAP APO.
- Contribute to the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, ensuring accurate forecasting and capacity management.
- Optimize raw material flow, collaborating with procurement to mitigate disruptions and maintain inventory efficiency.
- Create and oversee a rough-cut capacity model balancing cost, plant utilization, and production sequencing.
- Manage supply planning with contract manufacturers, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts and production needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field (MBA a plus).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in production planning and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing direct reports in a fast-paced setting.
- Advanced proficiency in SAP APO and Microsoft applications.
- APICS CPIM certification or Lean Manufacturing expertise preferred.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and familiarity with cGMP, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 13485:2016 preferred.
