Job description
BioTalent is pleased to be working with an exciting early-stage biotechnology company focused on the research and development of novel therapeutics for complement-mediated diseases. Their lead product is a potential gene therapy for dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of blindness. You will join the company as a Principal Scientist or Director (experience dependent) focused on DMPK, reporting to the Chief Scientific Officer. You will play a pivotal, strategic role, in implementing an integrated DMPK strategy to support the preclinical and clinical development of pipeline programs.
In this role, you will:
- Act as DMPK subject matter expert on multidisciplinary project teams – providing technical, scientific, and strategic leadership for all stages of the drug discovery and development process.
- Establish and implement DMPK strategies to define PK/PD relationships.
- Collaborate with Pharmacology and Bioanalytical groups to help build research strategies.
- Manage interactions with external CROs and project stakeholders for all DMPK activities.
- Lead the review, analysis, and interpretation of data from a wide range of sources to enable program decisions.
- Plan and manage PK workflows for IND enabling activities including contributions to regulatory filings.
- Occasional lab work, e.g. installing new equipment, difficult troubleshooting, or training.
You will have:
- PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g. drug metabolism, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences), plus 6+ years of industry experience.
- Experience working as a DMPK representative/subject matter expert on DMPK drug discovery and/or development projects for large molecule projects/programmes.
- Hands-on experience in PK, PK/PD modelling platforms, and/or PBPK is desirable.
