We have a highly stimulating and engaging opportunity for a Principal Scientist who specialises in Protein Chemistry, this exciting role will be working with a global life sciences leader who are situated in Slough, UK.
This position will allow the successful candidate to lead and oversee experimental teams with all relevant scientific activities which include: project management, study design, scientific review, coaching and mentoring, light hands-on laboratory work and technology scouting and implementation.

This position will allow the successful candidate to lead and oversee experimental teams with all relevant scientific activities which include: project management, study design, scientific review, coaching and mentoring, light hands-on laboratory work and technology scouting and implementation.
You will be responsible for:
- Oversight and execution of departmental scientific activities.
- Assessing and optimising Protein Chemistry methods and applications.
- Technology scouting and support with implementing new in-house technologies.
- Providing leadership and scientific direction whilst deploying strong collaborations across the Bio R&D department.
- External collaborations – publications, conferences and workshops.
- Protein Chemistry SME duties – steering analytical discussions, data configurations for project context and contribution to project decision-making.
- PhD in a relevant field or equivalent industrial experience (Ideal area of study: Biochemistry, Protein Science, Biomanufacturing, Biotechnology).
- Extensive analytical laboratory experience focusing on Protein Chemistry.
- Working knowledge and practise of liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, separation methods for protein analysis and QbD for method development.
- Good understanding of novel technologies and its application to protein analysis.
- Experience with a variety of protein formats.
