Lead Scientist Purification Development - Slough

Our client is a leading global biopharmaceutical company, and they are looking for a Lead Scientist – Purification Development to support the implementation of Bioprocess technologies within the development and manufacturing setting. You will also lead process innovation projects. If you can demonstrate inventiveness and problem-solving skills in the disciplines of bioprocessing and/or biotechnology, this could be the ideal role for you.

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing, coordinating and supporting execution of cross-functional studies.
  • Executing laboratory based scientific studies related to Downstream Processing.
  • Leading general laboratory organisation, activity planning and maintenance.
  • Leading technology implementation in development, pilot and manufacturing operations.
  • Complying with required GxP, documentation, data integrity and training standards.

You will bring the following:

  • Understanding of fundamentals of chromatography (mass transfer, binding kinetics).
  • Understanding of process development of continuous/integrated downstream operations.
  • Significant experience gained in a pharma/biopharma/CMO environment.
  • Knowledge of process automation and control strategy development.
  • In-depth knowledge of preparative chromatography, tangential flow filtration, and virus retaining filtration.
