Must already have the right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)
PhD required in T-cell biology, cellular immunology, or related field
Postdoctoral or equivalent industry experience strongly preferred

Are you a cellular immunologist looking to make a real impact in a fast-growing biotech environment? This is a brand new role within a discovery-stage start-up that’s pushing the boundaries of computational antigen design. The team blends biology, data science, and machine learning to revolutionise vaccine and therapeutic development, and they’re now looking for a Scientist with deep expertise in T-cell biology to help shape the future of their pipeline.

Why join?

• Work at the cutting edge of T-cell immunology, driving vaccine and therapeutic design

• Join a collaborative, interdisciplinary team where your work has visibility across the whole business

• Be part of a well-funded biotech, secured until 2027, preparing for Series B

• Small-company environment with a big mission, offering genuine career development and impact

What you’ll be doing

• Develop and optimise cellular and immunological testing platforms to inform antigen design

• Design and run functional assays with primary mouse/human cells and cell lines

• Characterise T-cell responses (flow cytometry, ICS, CTL assays, cytokine profiling)

• Perform cell culture, PBMC isolation, and immune tissue processing

• Contribute to antigen delivery/expression studies (DNA/mRNA transfection, mRNA-LNP formulation)

• Collaborate across research teams and support junior scientists

What we’re looking for

• PhD in T-cell biology, cellular immunology, or related field (essential)

• Postdoc or equivalent industry experience in immunology (preferred)

• Extensive hands-on expertise in functional assays with primary human/animal T cells

• Strong skills in culturing T cells, in vitro/ex vivo assays, and cytokine/CTL analysis

• Experienced with multi-parameter flow cytometry (panel design, staining, data analysis)

• Competent in transfecting cells with plasmid DNA and/or IVT mRNA
