Introduction

A medical diagnostics company based in Oxfordshire are looking for an experienced Buyer to join them. A newly created role, this position has huge opportunities to progress as the department continue to build out the function.
Working in close coordination between manufacturing, quality, development, regulatory, finance and legal, the successful incumbent will be responsible for procuring goods and services.

This role will offer you

  • An opportunity to make an impact on the strategy whilst gaining further exposure into negotiating contracts.

You will be responsible for

  • End-to-end procurement management, sourcing to ongoing SRM ensuring we adhere to our supply agreements at all times.
  • Continuously improving and defining category strategy.
  • Negotiate on new and existing contracts with key stakeholders in the organisation, to drive down costs to the company.
  • Work with Procurement improvement and process manager to implement KPIs and SLAs into contracts to ensure service delivery is at an optimum level - required to have a full strategic approach.
  • Data analysis of historic and planned spend for key suppliers and assist in maintaining all relevant KPIs
  • Ensure data on IFS is maintained and up to date at all times
  • Lead and participate in various contract negotiations while following OI processes.
  • Influence key stakeholders in the business to define new and effective procurement strategies.
  • Participate and work with the Procurement Process Improvement Manager in improving processes of any current policies.
  • Manage multi-million spending across assigned sub-categories.
  • Identify new potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities by using market knowledge.

You will bring the following

  • Proven procurement experience within Medical device / Pharma industry , preferably ISO13485
  • Good stakeholder management.
  • Enjoys working in an agile, fast-paced, busy environment.
  •  Ability to negotiate and influence all levels of internal / external customer/stakeholder.
  • Experience in building relationships in varied environments.
  • Able to analyse and rationalize data effectively
  • Ideally MCIPS
