This exciting Biobank Technician opportunity will allow the successful incumbent to be managing all operational activities within your vertical (collections, registration, tracking, coordinating with project teams, etc.) enabling high quality research by providing access and structure within the biobank tissue space which is critical for the overall developments and advancements of your team.

This exciting Biobank Technician opportunity will allow the successful incumbent to be managing all operational activities within your vertical (collections, registration, tracking, coordinating with project teams, etc.) enabling high quality research by providing access and structure within the biobank tissue space which is critical for the overall developments and advancements of your team.
You will be responsible for:
- Biological sample management - procurement, registration, tracking and processing according to standard operational models.
- Biospecimen inventory database management - coordinating with project teams to ensure all records and tracking is accurate and up to date and supporting with access to biospecimens.
- Highlighting and tackling problems associated with sample sourcing, liaising with project team members to discuss and overcome identified issues.
- Leading and supporting continuous improvement activities.
- Deploying best practices in your own work, adhering to Human Tissue Act (HTA) regulations, research ethics and company H&S standards.
You will bring the following:
- Minimum of 1 years experience in a similar biobanking role.
- Good knowledge of relevant IT software packages and biospecimen tracking platforms.
- Ability to support across multiple London-based facilities.
- Desirable - Understanding of research ethics related to human tissue and biological sample management.
- Desirable - Awareness of tissue procurement sources across the UK.
- Desirable - Working knowledge of laboratory practices, procedures and standards.
