This exciting opportunity offers a chance to work with a modernised multidisciplinary CRO based in Cambridge, UK. The Drosophila Genetics Scientist will be part of a leading organisation, who are delivering novel therapeutics into clinical stage development and offering tailored services to clients of all sizes.

You will be responsible for:
  • Planning and conducting experiments to determine effects of small molecules on Drosophila studies.
  • Organising and updating experimental records.
  • Setup of the Fly Lab.
  • Maintenance of Drosophila stock and relevant equipment.
  • Keeping to tight deadlines when delivering high quality data.

You will bring the following:
  • BSc/MSc in a biology related subject or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in drosophila genetics and fly pushing (including fly stock maintenance and crossing fly lines)
  • Proven experience in data analysis.
  • Desirable - experience conducting experiments to determine effects of small molecules on Drosophila studies.
  • Desirable - Working knowledge of a broad range of cell-based assays, immunoassays and biochemical techniques.
