BioTalent are proud to be collaborating with a category defining SME biotech with a passion for drug discovery and development of novel class Oncology therapeutics.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Scientist who will be part of a dynamic team of 7, reporting into the department Director. You should expect a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a strong support network and a culture of continuous learning and development.

You will be responsible for:
  • Performing aseptic isolation of serum, plasma, and PBMCs (including cell sorting and differentiation of monocytes)
  • Championing the development, validation, and implementation of primary and co-culture screening assays across 2D and 3D systems.
  • Driving project advancement by conducting data generation using cell-based screening and profiling assays to facilitate target validation and elucidate mechanisms of action.
  • Taking a pivotal role in strategic planning and decision-making processes, contributing to the development of target validation strategies and the preparation of essential data packages.
  • Demonstrating autonomy in work, collaborating closely with colleagues across various functional areas to ensure timely project deliverables.
  • Upholding transparent and effective communication practices, analysing, interpreting, and presenting results, and contributing to relevant reports as needed.

You will bring the following:
  • BSc/MSc with experience in one of the following areas: Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or related disciplines.
  • 2 years of industrial experience (biotech, pharma, CRO or equivalent)
  • Working experience in cell culture including peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs), primary cells and cell lines, with knowledge of techniques like ELISA & qPCR
  • Experience with one or more of the following: primary cell isolation, monocyte differentiation, FACS cell sorting, biobanking, high content screening platforms.
  • Desirable - Experience in assay development and/or mammalian cell-based assays (e.g. binding and blocking assays, reporter assays, signalling assays)
  • Desirable - Familiarity with GCP and/or HTA best practice.
