BioTalent is excited to partner with a venture-backed biotech focused on combating neurodegenerative diseases through the use of complex protein biologics. Their mission is to promote brain health and repair through genetic and biochemical insights.

You Will:

• Lead efforts to optimize stability, minimize immunogenicity and improve the properties of corresponding lipoproteins
• Create hypothesis-driven libraries of apolipoproteins with varying biochemical and biophysical properties to assess their influence on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
• Collaborate with the broader research team, external collaborators, and/or CROs to produce, formulate, characterize, and test candidates
• Lead efforts in developing lab-based and in silico methods for improvement of data generation and the throughput of material production
• Inform future rounds of protein engineering through the analyses of data from multiple sources
• Present findings and regularly communicate with the larger research and management teams

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. & 6+ years of biotech/pharma industry experience in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or related field
• Hands-on expertise in protein/antibody/enzyme engineering, including both directed evolution and rational design
• Record of successful management and collaboration with CRO’s in the past
• Knowledge of methods commonly used to characterize biologics

Desired Experience:

• Familiarity with methods to characterize nanoparticles
• Experience with bioconjugation or crosslinking chemistry
• Familiarity with lipoprotein biology or biochemistry
• Experience with barcoded libraries
