Introducing our new community... HealthTechQuity
Hello. I’m Perrin Joel, Client Solutions Director at BioTalent and, now, founder of HealthTechQuity, a community that has been in the works mentally for years and physically for the past six months.
In its entirety, HealthTechQuity is a community spotlighting tech-for-good in healthcare and life sciences, uniting mission-driven professionals to “do well by doing good.”
To set the scene, I’ll give a little context. I’ve been in recruitment for seven years and love what I do alongside loving the industry. However, what I don’t like is when recruitment becomes transactional; after all, we’re all humans who crave meaningful connection, belonging and purpose. Unfortunately, transactional relationships occur too often.
Building communities outside of everyday recruitment allows engagement and connection with our market in a much more intentional and human way, so much so that a community becomes its own entity. Race in STEM, run by Steven Fuller, is a great example.
Working with leaders in the HealthTech, MedTech and Biotech space for the past four years (calculating I’ve met 1,000+) has shown me how mission-driven people are in this space; they truly care and often the problem they are trying to solve is something that has personally affected them. However, there is a constant tension when it comes to raising funds and being profitable simultaneously. The ultimate question being: “How do you do well by doing good?”
By fostering networking opportunities and featuring impactful stories, we aim to connect and spotlight people who are using technology to improve lives and close health equity gaps, whilst building sustainable, economically thriving businesses. Join us for:
