I lead MedTech and customer engagement, focusing on supporting clients across Europe, particularly in the DACH region. My goal is to provide customer-centric, tailored hiring solutions that deliver first-class service across all areas of MedTech, from commercial and capital to healthcare IT and solutions. I work with talent globally to ensure our clients have access to the best people, while fostering a knowledgeable and diverse culture.

What trends are you currently seeing in the life sciences market, and which skillsets are in highest demand?
MedTech is evolving rapidly, and several trends are driving demand for specific skills:

  • AI in MedTech – Artificial intelligence is now a major driver of innovation, from diagnostics and imaging to clinical decision support and workflow automation. Many healthcare leaders are actively investing in AI and seeing measurable improvements in efficiency and patient outcomes. Examples include AI-powered clinical transcription tools and decision support systems being deployed in hospitals.

  • Personalised & Precision Medicine – Healthcare is moving from “one-size-fits-all” to patient-specific treatments. Key drivers include genomics, biomarker research, big data analytics, and advanced diagnostics. Applications include tailored cancer therapies, predictive disease analytics, and genetic testing based treatments.

  • Wearables & Remote Patient Monitoring – Healthcare is expanding outside hospitals, with smartwatches, biosensors, and connected medical devices enabling early detection, better chronic disease management, and fewer hospital visits.

  • Robotics & Smart Surgery – Surgical robotics and AI-guided procedures are growing rapidly, improving precision, recovery time, and safety. Augmented reality in the operating room is also being used to enhance outcomes.

  • Digital Health Platforms & Cloud Systems – Healthcare IT is becoming platform-based, integrating patient data, analytics, apps, and devices through cloud medical records and telehealth systems.

  • Industry Consolidation – Large MedTech companies are acquiring smaller firms to grow faster, with private equity and startups driving innovation and expansion.

What inspired you to specialise in life sciences recruitment?
My background is clinical I specialised in health screening within Radiology and Cardiology, and I’ve always had a passion for healthcare. Partnering with companies across MedTech, from Ultrasound and MRI to Endoscopy and Mammography, allows me to support the full life cycle of diagnostic technologies. Candidates and clients often come to me first for career guidance, confident that I can connect them with exciting opportunities globally.

What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
“Be yourself and focus on the right opportunities.” Choose your manager carefully, tackle challenging problems, nurture your network, build a strong reputation, and don’t stay too long in a role that isn’t right for you.

If you weren’t working in recruitment, what career path might you have pursued?
My first job was in my father’s pub in Ireland during university. I later moved into a health screening company, qualified as a medical technician, and managed the team across Ireland. That experience gave me a deep understanding of the healthcare industry that I now bring to recruitment.

Outside of work, what’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I love cooking, walking in Hampstead Heath, and I’m a huge fan of Irish rugby.

What do you enjoy most about your role at BioTalent?
I enjoy combining my clinical knowledge with recruitment expertise to support both clients and candidates in making impactful career and hiring decisions. Helping people grow while connecting them with cutting-edge MedTech opportunities is incredibly rewarding.
