Research Scientist, Biochemistry

BioTalent are partnered with an early-stage, VC-backed, scaling start-up working on ground-breaking Protein therapeutic agents for neurodegenerative diseases, who are looking for a Scientist, to join their growing Biochemistry team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a scaling biotech, and offers the chance to work play a key role in developing a new therapeutic platform, gain exposure to a number of different methods and techniques, and have a number of future growth opportunities as the company continues it success.

Responsibilities

• Assemble lipoprotein particles with varying biochemical compositions and biophysical properties
• Coordinate with the broader research team to design particles that further the companies' scientific goals
• Pilot and optimize the synthesis of novel classes of lipoproteins
• Lead the development of methods to purify and characterize reaction products
• Collect data from multiple sources and regularly communicate findings to the research and management teams

Requirements:

• PhD in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field with relevant laboratory experience, or a Master’s degree with 4+ years relevant work experience
• Experience with basic biochemistry bench techniques required, including gel electrophoresis, western blotting, density ultracentrifugation, binding assays, immunoprecipitation and FPLC/HPLC
• Experience with separation techniques including TFF
• Experience with generation and interpretation of lipidomic datasets strongly preferred, experience with lipoproteins or lipid-binding proteins desired
