This extremely refreshing opportunity will be working with one of my world class equal opportunity pharmaceutical employers, they host a fearless, forward-thinking approach within their med chem team and across the business and together we are searching for an innovative, dynamic Medicinal Chemistry leader.

 

The Medicinal Chemistry Scale-up Senior Research Scientist will be responsible for experimental productivity and the streamlining of scale-up procedures. You will work as part of a high performing med chem scale-up team and be expected to conduct independent synthesis of compounds and intermediates on a range of scales from multi grams to hundreds of grams. Additionally, you will be expected to carry out complex experimental procedures, method development and troubleshooting.

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and conducting synthetic experiments (working on a range of scales to produce 10s grams to 100s grams of final APIs) and other challenging chemistry experiments.
  • Delivering material and develop/optimise processes independently.
  • Collaborating with your high performing Scale-up team to achieve rapid material delivery and contribute/lead problem solving activities.
  • Gathering and analysing complex data, synthesising results into conclusions/recommendations to influence project decisions and new research tasks.
  • Carrying out advanced and/or complex experimental troubleshooting.
  • Highlighting and introducing relevant emerging technologies in your specialised field to advance existing technology platforms.
  • Making significant contribution to patent and/or publication preparation.
  • Preparing study presentations and delivering experimental conclusions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

You will bring the following:

  • Experience working in a large-scale, synthetic laboratory delivering complex organic compounds.
  • Experience with using large-scale glassware 5L to 30L.
  • Experience and understanding of process safety and hazard assessments.
  • Strong synthetic knowledge and understanding.
  • Experience designing and executing complex, challenging experiments.
  • Desirable - Ph.D. (or equivalent) in chemistry or related science and relevant post-doctoral employment experience.
  • Accepting - Masters or Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in chemistry or related science with relevant employment experience.
