Director of Facilities & Metrology | Cell & Gene Therapy

 

BioTalent is partnering with a global cell and gene therapy organization to appoint a Director of Facilities & Metrology for a highly regulated, multi-product GMP site.

 

This is a senior leadership role responsible for end‑to‑end facilities, engineering, and metrology operations, ensuring manufacturing and testing teams are supported with compliant, reliable, and scalable infrastructure. The position plays a critical role in enabling life‑changing therapies to reach patients worldwide.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of Facilities and Metrology functions within a cGMP environment
  • Oversight of maintenance, calibration, qualification, and validation activities
  • Delivery of capital projects, site expansions, and infrastructure improvements
  • Regulatory compliance across FDA/EMA/ICH, engineering standards, and EHS requirements
  • Line management and development of a high‑performing technical team
  • Contractor, vendor, and cross‑functional stakeholder management
  • Support of commissioning, validation, tech transfer, and site start‑up activities

 

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
  • 10+ years in engineering/facilities roles within life sciences, with 5+ years in leadership
  • Strong experience in cGMP manufacturing environments (cell & gene therapy experience advantageous)
  • Proven ability to balance compliance, operational delivery, and strategic growth
