Suicide Prevention Day 2021
“Soak up the views. Take in the bad weather and the good weather. You are not the storm.”
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. The Samaritan’s have declared this years’ theme as ‘Creating Hope Through Action,’ which aims to empower people with the confidence to engage with the complexity of ‘hope.’ Suicide is not inevitable – a short conversation with another person can sometimes be enough to make the difference between life and death.
At BioTalent, mental health is one of our key pillars within our DEI framework, which we take seriously to build awareness to overcome the stigma behind mental health conditions. Last year showed us that mental health is crucial and that health and wellbeing needs to be bought to the forefront of the conversation.
Every year, The Samaritans volunteer to respond to around 10,000 calls for help. They offer listening and support to people and communities in times of need. You can call them any time, day, or night, on 116 123.
