​Executive Director, Clinical Development (Neurodegenerative)

Remote – United States

Seeking a seasoned Clinical Development Leader with a scientific background in Neurology (neurodegenerative disease) and expertise to drive strategic planning, trial design, and KOL engagement for an AAV Gene Therapy biotech. Shape transformative gene therapies, collaborate with stakeholders, and advance candidates into the clinic.

Preparing for multiple INDs and additional programs nearing Clinic, seeking a Clinical SME with a strong depth of designing innovative approaches for product development. There’s a ton of upfront strategic work to be executed for this new hire which will require you to drive strategic planning, design new trials, work with KOLs, and advisory boards. There will be no immediate direct reports but there will be in the future. You will be considered upper management’s right hand and will Lead the team and external contacts with your innovative ideas and plans for programs focused on high unmet needs.

Qualifications:

• M.D. degree in a Scientific discipline (Neurology preferred)

• 6+ years of biopharmaceutical industry experience.

• Neurodegenerative disease experience is required.

• Gene Therapy experience preferred.

• Early Development experience where you’ve driven clinical development of transformative gene therapies.

• Phase 1/2 clinical trial experience.

• Handled successful interactions and collaborations with key stakeholders to advance candidates into the clinic.

• IND filings; IBs and Protocol writing experience.

• Strong strategic thinking and execution.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
